TriplonaTriplona

Triplona is a verified global marketplace operated by Triplona International Limited, registered in Kenya, and these terms are governed by the laws of Kenya. We connect travellers with independent providers across eight categories — stays & hotels, rides & transport, dining, hire & services, media & photography, experiences, events, and Travel Agents. Triplona is not a party to any booking, does not hold funds and does not process payments between customers and providers.

Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully. By creating an account you agree to be bound by them.

Triplona is operated by Triplona International Limited, a company registered in Kenya. · Last updated 26 August 2026

1. Introduction & acceptance

1.1 Who we are

Triplona is a verified global marketplace that connects travellers with independent providers across eight service categories — stays & hotels, rides & transport, dining & restaurants, hire & services, media & photography, experiences & tours, events & conferences, and Travel Agents. Triplona is owned and operated by Triplona International Limited, a company registered in Kenya ("Triplona", "we", "us" or "our").

1.2 Agreement to these terms

These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") form a legally binding agreement between you ("you", "your", "member" or "user") and Triplona. By creating an account, ticking the acceptance box, or otherwise accessing or using the platform, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and any role-specific guidelines referenced here.

If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not create an account or use the platform.

1.3 Our role — what Triplona is and is not

Triplona provides technology, verification, marketing, communication and discovery services that help travellers find and contact verified independent providers. That is the whole of what we do.

Triplona is NOT a travel agency, a tour operator, a payment processor, an escrow service, an insurer, an employer of any provider, or a party to any contract formed between a traveller and a provider. Contracts for stays, rides, dining, hire, media, experiences, events or agent services are formed directly between the traveller and the provider, on terms the two of them agree. Travel Agents who list on Triplona operate as independent businesses in their own right — we host their profile, we do not act as one.

1.4 Marketplace philosophy

Triplona exists because independent providers should keep 100% of what their customers pay them. We fund the platform through transparent memberships and optional promotional services — never through a commission on your bookings. The platform's job is to connect travellers with verified independent businesses worldwide; everything in these Terms is designed around that single idea.

1.5 Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher.
  • You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract and not be barred from using the service under any applicable law.
  • If you use the platform on behalf of a business or other entity, you represent that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.

2. Accounts & roles

2.1 Account registration

You agree to provide accurate, current and complete information during registration and to keep it up to date. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your password and credentials confidential. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.

2.2 Member roles

Every new member starts as a customer. Provider roles are added through verification when a member is ready to list services. Triplona currently supports eight service categories:

  • Travellers / customers — discover providers, send enquiries and arrange bookings.
  • Stays & homes — list short-term rentals, homestays, lodges, apartments and hotel rooms.
  • Taxi & car operators — offer taxi, chauffeur, airport transfer and on-demand ride services.
  • Restaurants & dining — publish menus, take reservations and receive group bookings.
  • Hire & services — offer skilled trades, gear rental, event help and other on-demand services.
  • Photographers & media — provide photography, videography, drone coverage, editing and content services.
  • Tours & experiences — sell guided tours, cultural visits, safaris and half- or multi-day itineraries.
  • Events & conferences — organise ticketed events, meetups and conferences, with live chat and voice rooms.
  • Travel agents — coordinate approved services across the eight categories on behalf of customers through verified profiles.

2.3 Identity & verification

To protect the community we verify identity, contact details, listings and, where applicable, business registration and tax details. Verification is intended to confirm identity and business legitimacy — that the person or company behind a listing exists, is who they say they are, and is lawfully permitted to trade. Verification is NOT a guarantee of service quality, safety, availability or future performance, and being verified does not imply endorsement by Triplona. You may verify as an individual or as a registered company/organisation.

  • Individuals provide their legal name and a government ID reference, and may upload a copy of the ID to speed up review.
  • Companies and organisations provide their registered name, tax PIN and registration number, and upload their registration document (and, where relevant, tax document).
  • Companies must also provide owner details (name, ID reference and contact) so that customers are cushioned by knowing who stands behind the business.
  • Companies must assign a representative who runs the account day to day. The host may change the assigned representative at any time and remains responsible for the account and everything done under it.

2.4 How your information is used and shown

  • Documents and full identity, owner and representative details are collected solely for trust and fraud-prevention. They are stored privately and are visible only to Triplona governance — never to other members.
  • Other members see only your public name and your photo or company logo. Contact details such as email and phone are never shown to other members and remain inside protected system channels.
  • We encourage every host to add a clear photo, or a company logo, because customers place more faith in hosts and businesses they can see.

2.5 Inviting customers to the platform

Members may invite customers to join Triplona by email and may request the registration documents needed to do business with them. An invitation is only a request — it does not create an account or any membership on its own.

The invited person becomes a valid member only after they accept the unique link sent to their email address and complete their own registration, thereby agreeing to these Terms in their own right. Members must have a legitimate reason to invite someone and must not send unsolicited or bulk invitations, harvest email addresses, or misrepresent who they are. We may suspend invitation privileges that are misused.

2.6 Company pages & managers

A member who registers a company may run it as a company page, similar to a business page on a social network. The member who creates the page is its Owner and remains ultimately responsible for the page and everything done under it.

The Owner may assign other Triplona members as managers of the page, either as an Admin or an Editor, by inviting them by email. A person invited who is not yet a member becomes one only after they accept the unique link sent to their email and complete their own registration. Admins may manage the page's listings, chats, orders, content and other managers; Editors may manage the page's listings and content. Only the Owner may delete the page or change the Owner role.

To keep the Owner in control of the brand, edits made by an Admin or Editor to the page's details, cover image or logo do not take effect immediately. They are submitted as a change request that appears in the Owner's inbox, and only take effect once the Owner accepts them; the Owner may reject them at any time. The Owner's own edits apply immediately.

If a manager or company representative leaves the organisation, the Owner may immediately revoke their access from the page's management screen and appoint a replacement. Revocation takes effect at once and removes the manager's ability to act on behalf of the page; any pending change requests they submitted lapse automatically.

Company pages, like all Triplona profiles and listings, are intended for use on the platform. We recommend keeping discovery, quotes and the record of key agreements inside Triplona so that every member benefits from our verification signals and our chat record if a question comes up later.

2.7 Promoting listings & pages (boosts)

Members may boost a listing or a company page to increase its visibility at the top of search and category pages. Boosts are offered for fixed durations — one week, one month or one year — and you choose your own budget, with a higher budget winning more visibility.

Boosts become active only after we successfully verify your payment, and they run for the duration you paid for. Boosts affect placement and prominence only; they never change search relevance rules in a way that misleads customers, and they do not guarantee bookings, orders or any particular result. Boost fees are for the promotion itself and are not refundable once the boost is live.

3. The marketplace & our role

3.1 We connect, members transact

Triplona provides a venue that connects members across eight service categories — stays & hotels, rides & transport, dining & restaurants, hire & services, media & photography, experiences & tours, events & conferences, and travel agents. Those services are offered by independent providers, not by Triplona. Except where expressly stated, we are not the operator of a stay, the driver, the restaurant, the photographer, the tour guide, the event organiser or the travel agent, and we are not a party to the contract formed between a customer and a provider.

3.2 We do not sit on your money

The only payment made through Triplona is the provider's hosting membership subscription (see Section 5). We do not receive, hold, escrow or process the money that a customer pays their provider for the underlying booking. Customers pay providers directly using whatever payment method the two of them agree on — the provider decides which options they accept and the customer picks one that works for them. Options commonly include cash, mobile money (for example M-Pesa or Airtel Money), bank transfer, card or online wallets, but Triplona neither prescribes nor restricts the method.

Because Triplona does not hold booking funds, we cannot refund a booking or reverse a payment for you. Where a dispute arises about the underlying service, the customer and provider must resolve it between themselves; Triplona can provide the record of on-platform communication and, where appropriate, moderation or account action, but not a financial remedy.

3.3 Free to browse, flat subscription to list

Customers browse Triplona free of charge. Providers who wish to publish listings pay a flat monthly or annual member subscription for listing space. Triplona does not take commission on completed bookings. VAT-registered providers remain responsible for charging, collecting and remitting VAT under the laws of their local revenue authority (for example, the Kenya Revenue Authority in Kenya).

4. Listings & content standards

4.1 Your responsibility for listings

If you publish a listing you are solely responsible for its accuracy, legality, quality and safety, and for honouring it as described. You must hold all licences, permits, insurance and registrations required to offer your experience, and you must comply with all applicable local laws and taxes.

4.2 Service content & media

Photos, videos, descriptions, prices, availability and service terms must be accurate, lawful and owned or licensed by the provider publishing them. Illustrative media must not mislead customers about what is actually offered.

4.3 Prohibited content & conduct

You must not list, post or do any of the following:

  • Anything illegal, fraudulent, deceptive, unsafe, or that infringes another person's rights.
  • Content you do not own or have the right to share, including copyrighted photos, videos or text.
  • Misleading claims about licences, ownership, availability, safety, pricing or service quality.
  • Discriminatory, hateful, harassing, violent or sexually exploitative material.
  • Spam, malware, scraping, reverse engineering, or attempts to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the platform.
  • Duplicate, fake or manipulated listings, reviews, ratings or referrals.

4.4 Moderation

Every listing may be reviewed before going live, and we may edit, reject, suspend or remove any content, listing or account that breaches these Terms or that we reasonably consider harmful, at our discretion and without liability.

4.5 Editing, unpublishing & deleting your listings

You control your own listings. At any time you may save a listing as a draft, edit it, submit it for review, or permanently delete it — whether it is a draft or already live — from your dashboard. Deleting a listing removes it from the marketplace and cannot be undone.

Deleting a listing does not cancel or affect any booking, order, payment or dispute already made under it. Those obligations continue to their conclusion, and any refunds or amounts still owed between the parties are settled between them directly under Sections 5 and 6. Where a listing belongs to a company page, managers with the appropriate role may edit or delete it on the company's behalf.

5. Host Subscription, trial & taxes

5.1 Marketplace subscription — 0% commission on bookings

Triplona is a verified global marketplace across eight service categories — stays & hotels, rides & transport, dining & restaurants, hire & services, media & photography, experiences & tours, events & conferences, and Travel Agents. We provide the technology that lets travellers discover and communicate with independent providers in those categories. We do not sell those services ourselves, we do not act as a party to any booking, and we do not take any commission or service fee on the transaction between a customer and a provider.

Payment for a booked service is a matter between the customer and the provider, settled directly between them by whatever method they agree on (for example cash, mobile money, bank transfer, card or online wallets — Triplona neither prescribes nor restricts which options are used). Triplona is not a payment processor, escrow agent, insurer or guarantor of any booking.

5.2 Host Subscription

  • Providers who wish to publish listings pay a flat Host Subscription for the space they occupy on the marketplace, chosen from a monthly plan or an annual plan. Current headline prices are shown on the Host Subscription page in your local currency.
  • The annual plan is offered at a discount of KES 2,000 compared with paying monthly for twelve months, as a thank-you for the longer commitment.
  • Customers, travellers and guests use Triplona free of charge and pay no fee to Triplona at any point, whether they book, message or attend on-platform conferences.

5.3 30-day free trial & manual renewal

Every paid provider plan begins with a 30-day free trial. During the trial you enjoy full access to the plan you selected at no charge. No payment method is charged during the trial.

Triplona subscriptions do NOT renew automatically. At the end of the 30-day trial, and at the end of each subsequent billing period, your subscription ends unless you choose to renew it. We send reminders before the period ends so you can renew in one click if you wish to continue. Membership becomes active — or reactivates on renewal — after payment has been successfully verified.

5.4 Cancellations & refunds on subscription payments

Because renewal is manual, there is nothing to cancel to stop future billing — simply choose not to renew and your listing goes inactive at the end of the current paid period. If you wish to stop earlier, you can mark the subscription as ended at any time from your account; access continues until the end of the period already paid.

Amounts already paid to Triplona for a subscription period are not refunded. This is because taxes and levies on subscription payments (including VAT, digital-service taxes and equivalent local duties) are declared and remitted to the relevant tax authorities on our part immediately, and cannot be reversed after the fact. This applies to the subscription fee only — it does not affect any refund a provider chooses to give a customer for a booking, which is a separate matter between them.

5.5 Currency & conversion

Host Subscription prices are shown in your local currency, converted from our base pricing for convenience. The exact amount charged is confirmed at checkout, and your bank or payment provider may apply its own conversion rate and fees when settling; those are outside our control.

For clarity, every monetary figure stated in these Terms is expressed as either an amount in Kenyan Shillings (KES) or in United States Dollars (USD) at the point it appears; local-currency amounts shown elsewhere on the platform are approximate conversions of those reference amounts.

5.6 Taxes

  • Providers are solely responsible for charging, declaring and remitting the correct taxes, duties and levies (including VAT, tourism levies and income taxes) on the services they sell to their customers. Triplona does not collect, hold or remit those taxes.
  • Where required by law — for example under the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) — Triplona collects and remits VAT or digital-service tax on its own subscription fees and issues eTIMS-compliant invoices for those subscription payments. This applies only to what the provider pays Triplona, not to what the provider's customers pay the provider.
  • Providers are encouraged to record their KRA PIN (or equivalent tax identifier) on their account so that subscription invoices can be issued correctly.

6. Bookings, cancellations & disputes

6.1 Direct booking between customer and provider

When a customer books any service on Triplona — a stay or hotel, a ride or transport, a meal, a hire or service, media or photography, an experience or tour, an event or conference, or the services of a Travel Agent — the booking creates a contract directly between the customer and the provider. Triplona is not a party to that contract. Any payment for the service is made directly to the provider using the method the provider accepts.

Safety tip for travellers: do not send money until you have satisfied yourself that the provider is genuine (their Triplona verification badge, their reviews, and any documents they share on request) and until you clearly understand their payment terms, including deposit, balance and cancellation rules. If anything about a request for payment feels wrong, pause and ask us.

6.2 Subscription payment method

Provider subscriptions are paid directly to Triplona using a method the provider and Triplona agree on — for example M-Pesa, other mobile money, bank transfer, card or an online wallet. Triplona does not store card details. Membership becomes active only after the payment has been received and verified by the Triplona team.

6.3 Cancellations & refunds between customer and provider

Cancellation and refund rules for any booking are set by the provider and shown on the listing at the time of booking. Because payment for the service is made directly between the customer and the provider, any refund is issued directly by the provider. Triplona does not hold funds, does not release funds and cannot issue refunds on a provider's behalf.

6.4 Disputes

If a dispute arises between a customer and a provider, the parties should first attempt to resolve it directly through Triplona's messaging. Triplona may, at its discretion, provide the parties with a copy of their in-platform message history to assist resolution, but is not obliged to mediate, adjudicate, refund, compensate or otherwise intervene in a dispute over the underlying service.

Triplona may suspend or terminate a listing or account where a provider has a pattern of unresolved complaints, fraudulent conduct or breaches of these Terms.

6.5 Verification is mandatory

Every provider must complete identity verification before publishing a listing. Individuals verify their legal name and government ID; companies verify their registration and tax details, together with the owner and the day-to-day representative. This is not optional — it exists so customers know exactly who is standing behind each service on the platform, and so we can take action against anyone who behaves dishonestly. Listings from an unverified account remain private until verification is passed.

6.6 Compliance & anti-money-laundering monitoring

Because Triplona does not receive, hold or transmit funds between customers and providers, it is not a designated financial institution under the Kenya Proceeds of Crime and Anti-Money Laundering Act. Triplona nevertheless monitors platform activity for indicators of money laundering, terrorist financing, human trafficking and other prohibited conduct, cooperates with lawful requests from the Financial Reporting Centre and other competent authorities, and may suspend accounts and preserve records to support such cooperation.

6.7 Donations

Voluntary donations made to support the platform are non-refundable and are not a purchase of any product or service.

7. Communications, conferences & on-platform trust

7.1 Chat, conferences & on-platform records

Triplona provides system chat and audio/video conference rooms so members can discuss listings, plan bookings and hold meetings. Customers and providers alike may create and join conferences. We strongly encourage members to keep the substance of their conversations on the platform: it creates a clear, time-stamped record that protects everyone if a question, review or dispute arises later.

7.2 Sharing contact details and where you chat is your choice

Triplona does not control pricing, contact sharing or where members choose to hold their conversations. Phone numbers, email addresses and messaging handles may be shared inside system chat, and members are free to continue on any channel they both prefer. There is no per-message fee, no contact-release charge and no restriction on off-platform conversations.

We recommend — but do not require — that the final agreement, scope, price and payment method be summarised back inside Triplona chat. Doing so gives new customers confidence in your listing, keeps reviews and ratings tied to a verified account, and preserves a record that helps if anything needs to be revisited. Once a conversation moves off-platform we cannot see it, cannot verify it and cannot help if things go wrong — that limitation is a caution, not a penalty.

7.3 Honest conduct & consequences

What is prohibited is fraud, harassment, spam, impersonation and scams — whether on- or off-platform. Choosing to chat or transact off-platform is not itself a breach of these Terms. Deceiving customers, evading verification, or manipulating reviews or ratings may result in warnings, reduced visibility, suspension or termination.

8. Referrals & rewards

8.1 Program terms

Where a referral or rewards program is offered, rewards are earned only when a referred member becomes genuinely active — for example, an active subscriber who signs up through your link and stays active for a qualifying period, or a traveller you refer who completes a real in-app booking above a stated value. Reward amounts are shown on the Host Subscription page and are credited to your wallet as platform credit, redeemable after a short holding period once the referral is confirmed.

Referral rewards are funded from Triplona's own subscription and promotional revenue. They are not funded from, deducted from, or in any way linked to money a customer pays a provider for a booking — customer booking payments never touch Triplona.

8.2 Abuse

Self-referrals, fake accounts, and any manipulation of the program are prohibited and may result in forfeiture of rewards and account action.

9. Intellectual property & your content

9.1 Our rights

The platform, including its software, design, branding and AI features, is owned by Triplona and its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the platform for its intended purpose.

9.2 Your content licence

You retain ownership of the content you submit. By submitting content you grant Triplona a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, display, reproduce, adapt and promote that content for the purpose of operating, marketing and improving the platform. You confirm you have the rights necessary to grant this licence.

10. Privacy & data protection

10.1 How we handle data

We process personal data in line with our Privacy Policy and applicable data-protection laws, including the GDPR where relevant. You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and manage your cookie preferences at any time.

10.2 AI features

The platform uses AI to personalize discovery, generate illustrative imagery and assist with content. AI outputs may contain inaccuracies and should not be relied upon as professional, legal, medical or financial advice.

11. Disclaimers & limitation of liability

11.1 Service provided as-is

The platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11.2 Experiences provided by members

We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, quality, safety or legality of experiences offered by members, the truth or accuracy of listings, or the ability of buyers and sellers to complete a transaction. You deal with other members at your own risk.

11.3 Limitation

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Triplona will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the platform will not exceed the greater of the fees you paid to Triplona in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100.

11.4 Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold Triplona harmless from any claims, losses or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your content or listings, or your breach of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

12. Suspension & termination

12.1 Requesting deletion of your account

You may request permanent deletion of your account at any time from Account & invites in your dashboard. To protect other members and prevent anyone from walking away from an obligation, deletion follows a controlled process rather than taking effect immediately.

When you submit a request, the platform automatically checks for unresolved responsibilities on your account — including active bookings (as a guest or host), open disputes, and subscription payments awaiting verification. If any are found, your request is placed in an "awaiting resolution" state and you must clear those items before deletion can proceed.

Every deletion takes a minimum of three (3) days to complete. During this cool-off period your request is reviewed by our team, and you may cancel it at any time before it is approved. Deletion is finalised only after the cool-off period has elapsed, all pending issues are resolved, and an administrator approves it.

Once approved, your account and associated personal profile are permanently removed. Certain records may be retained where required by law, for tax and accounting purposes, or to resolve completed or disputed transactions.

12.2 Suspension or removal by us

We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or for any lawful operational reason. Outstanding obligations, fees and licences granted to us survive termination.

Where we initiate the permanent removal of a member, an administrator must declare a reason, and the same safeguards apply: the platform checks for unresolved responsibilities and the removal cannot be completed until they are resolved and the minimum three-day period has passed. This ensures a member cannot be removed — and cannot arrange their own removal — in order to escape a pending transaction, dispute or balance.

12.3 Deleting a company page

Only a page Owner may request deletion of a company page, from the page's management screen. Page deletion follows exactly the same safeguards as deleting an account: the platform automatically checks the page's listings for unresolved responsibilities — including active bookings and open disputes — and if any are found the request is held in an "awaiting resolution" state until they are cleared.

Every page deletion takes a minimum of three (3) days and is finalised only after the cool-off period has elapsed, all pending issues are resolved, and an administrator approves it. The Owner may cancel the request at any time before it is approved. When a page is deleted, its listings are not destroyed — they revert to the Owner personally so that any customer relationship and obligation is preserved.

13. Safety tips for using Triplona services

13.1 Why safety matters here

Triplona is a service marketplace — travellers physically meet hosts, drivers and photographers, stay in someone's home or ride in someone's vehicle. The tips below help both sides transact safely. They are guidance, not a warranty; each party remains responsible for their own conduct.

We take inspiration from leading service platforms such as leading global stay, booking and ride-hailing platforms — attribution kept internal, no partnership claimed. Any of the resource links below is enabled by our team when the corresponding help article goes live; until then it stays inactive.

Verify identity before you meet

Only book verified providers whenever possible. Confirm the person meeting you matches the profile photo and name on the listing before handing over payment or luggage.

Keep every conversation on Triplona

If something goes wrong, our team can only help when the message trail is inside system chat. Politely decline requests to move to WhatsApp, Telegram or email before the booking is confirmed.

Meet in public the first time

For car hire pickups and photographer shoots, choose a well-lit public place for the first meeting. Share the plan with a friend and check in when you arrive safely.

Share your trip with someone you trust

Send a friend or family member your stay address, driver details and expected times. Most phones can share live location for a set number of hours — use it.

Insist on a written scope

For photographers, drivers and Travel Agents, confirm the deliverables, timing and price inside chat before payment. A short written scope prevents most disputes.

Report anything that feels off

Suspicious pricing, pressure to pay off-platform, requests for scans of your ID or unexplained cancellations — flag them via the Trust & Safety link and we investigate.

14. Onboarding, verification & role approvals

14.1 First-login walkthrough

New members are shown a short in-app walkthrough once, on the first login after registration, covering how to browse listings, choose a partner role, complete verification and communicate safely on-platform. After that first login it does not reappear automatically; members can reopen it any time from the footer "Take the tour" link. The walkthrough is provided for guidance only and does not replace these Terms, our Privacy Policy or any role-specific rules; dismissing or skipping it does not change your obligations under these Terms.

14.2 Verification is required before hosting roles are granted

Any hosting or partner role (for example stay host, hotel, transport, photographer, dining, hire, media, experience host, event organiser, rider or travel agent) is granted by an administrator only after you have completed identity, business and/or tax verification appropriate to that role. Individuals must submit a government-issued ID. Businesses must additionally submit their registration and tax details, plus owner and representative information.

Submitting a role request does not by itself grant the role. Where the information you provide is incomplete, unclear or inconsistent with your account, an administrator may contact you through the platform requesting specific additional documents before your request can be approved.

14.3 Accuracy & responsibility for submitted information

You are responsible for ensuring that the details and documents you upload during onboarding and verification are accurate, current and lawfully yours to share. Submitting forged, altered, borrowed or otherwise misleading information is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account, forfeiture of any pending rewards and referral to competent authorities where fraud is suspected.

14.4 Ongoing verification

We may re-verify your identity, business status or tax details at any time — including where risk signals are detected, where you change country or entity type, or where regulators require it. During re-verification, listing, payout or messaging features may be temporarily limited until the review is complete.

14.5 Vehicle identification for transport & ride roles

If you apply for a transport, ride or car-hire role, you must submit the vehicle's number plate (and, where requested, the logbook, PSV/road-service licence and driver's licence) as part of verification. The number plate is used strictly to (a) confirm the vehicle exists and is lawfully associated with you, (b) show travellers which vehicle they are booking so they can identify it on pick-up, and (c) support incident, safety or regulatory follow-up when necessary.

You confirm that the vehicle details you submit are accurate and that you are entitled to offer the vehicle for hire. Where you change vehicles, you must update the plate and supporting documents before offering new trips. Providing false or borrowed vehicle details is a material breach of these Terms and may result in immediate suspension.

14.6 Membership, payment & feature activation

Publishing listings and other provider features require an active member subscription. The subscription is billed at KES 1,000 per calendar month or KES 10,000 per year — or the equivalent amount in the provider's country of residence, shown in local currency at checkout — after a 30-day free trial. Optional paid boosts (for example, featured placement) are separate and always optional. Triplona takes no commission on bookings or orders. Membership, boosts and any other paid platform services become active only after payment has been successfully verified through the approved payment channel. Subscriptions do not renew automatically; if you wish to continue, you renew manually before the period ends. Amounts already paid to Triplona are not prorated or refunded for partial periods.

15. Changes, governing law & disputes

15.1 Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified through the platform or by email. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15.2 Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, where Triplona International Limited is incorporated, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have in your country of residence.

15.3 Disputes

We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally. Where a dispute cannot be resolved, it will be handled in accordance with applicable law and any dispute-resolution process we make available.

15.4 How to contact us

Every email Triplona sends — account, verification, subscription, booking activity and support notices — comes from hello@triplona.com. Any request, notice, complaint, receipt request or legal correspondence under these Terms should also be sent to hello@triplona.com, and we will reply from the same address.

Treat any message asking you to pay, share credentials or continue a Triplona matter from a different address as suspicious, and report it to hello@triplona.com.

15.5 General

  • If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in effect.
  • Our failure to enforce a right is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a reorganization or sale.
  • These Terms, together with the policies referenced here, are the entire agreement between you and Triplona.

16. Authorization, representation & third-party rights

16.1 You must be authorized to list

Before publishing, every member confirms who they are in relation to what they are listing — owner, appointed agent, licensed operator or an authorised representative of a business. The declaration you accept in the listing form forms part of these Terms, and the exact wording, its version, the version of these Terms and the time of acceptance are recorded against the listing.

  • You must hold the authority to list the property, asset, service or experience.
  • An agent or representative warrants that they have permission from the relevant owner or rights holder.
  • You are responsible for disputes arising from a lack of authorization.
  • You agree to indemnify Triplona against applicable third-party claims arising from unauthorized listings, subject to this agreement and applicable law.

16.2 Evidence, review and enforcement

  • Triplona may request evidence of authorization at any time, and certain categories and roles require that evidence up front.
  • Where an authorization has an expiry date, you must keep it current; listings may be paused automatically when it lapses.
  • Triplona may suspend or remove a listing where authorization is disputed or cannot reasonably be verified.
  • Providing false authorization information may result in suspension or termination of your account.

17. My Finances & bookkeeping

17.1 What My Finances is

My Finances is an optional bookkeeping and financial record-keeping tool made available to eligible Triplona members. It helps a member keep track of income, expenses, invoices, receipts, customers and basic financial reports in one place.

17.2 Optional use

Use of My Finances is optional. You can use the Triplona marketplace fully without activating it, and you can switch it off at any time without losing the records you have already saved.

17.3 Member responsibility

  • The accuracy of the records you enter.
  • Selecting appropriate accounts and recording transactions correctly.
  • Reviewing drafts before posting them.
  • Keeping your own supporting documents.
  • Meeting your own accounting and tax obligations.

17.4 No professional accounting or tax advice

My Finances is a technology and bookkeeping tool. Triplona does not act as your accountant, auditor, tax adviser, financial adviser or legal adviser.

17.5 Triplona records are not automatically your accounting records

A booking, enquiry, listing, order or other marketplace activity does not automatically constitute accounting revenue or an accounting transaction in your books. Where you choose to record an eligible Triplona transaction, you are responsible for confirming the appropriate accounting information before posting it.

17.6 External payments

Customers and providers may arrange payment directly between themselves. Triplona does not represent that a payment has occurred merely because a booking exists. Where you record an external payment in My Finances, that record is a member-supplied accounting record and does not mean Triplona received, held or processed the payment.

17.7 Registered customer linking

Where My Finances allows you to link a registered Triplona customer to an accounting record, this does not transfer ownership of that customer's account and does not expose unrelated customer information. A document-specific display name changes only the name shown on that document, never the customer's Triplona identity.

17.8 Accuracy of customer information

You must not deliberately enter false customer information or misuse another person's identity in your books.

17.9 Financial records & retention

Posted accounting records are retained and handled according to the system's accounting and audit controls. Triplona may retain certain records where required by law, including for tax, accounting, fraud-prevention or dispute-related purposes.

17.10 Reports

Financial reports are generated only from records you have entered and posted. Triplona does not guarantee that your bookkeeping is complete or suitable for your specific legal or tax obligations.

17.11 Taxes

You remain responsible for determining, reporting and paying the taxes applicable to your business. My Finances may provide configurable tax fields and calculations, but these do not replace professional tax advice or your legal obligations.

17.12 Export access

Export of financial documents may be restricted to active or paid-up members according to the applicable membership entitlement. Members whose membership has lapsed may continue to view their historical bookkeeping records; those records are not deleted.

17.13 No guarantee of accounting outcome

Triplona does not guarantee that your records will satisfy the requirements of any particular tax authority, auditor, accountant, lender or regulator. Obtain professional advice where required.

18. Booking confirmations & customer details

18.1 What a booking confirmation is

A booking confirmation is a shared record of the details a customer and a provider have agreed in their Triplona conversation — for example the service, dates, agreed amount and any notes. It exists so both parties have one clear reference, and so our support team can assist if a question arises later.

18.2 Triplona is not a party to the booking

Completing a booking confirmation does not create a contract with Triplona, does not mean Triplona has taken any payment, and does not make Triplona responsible for the service. The booking remains a direct arrangement between the customer and the provider, and payment is made directly to the provider.

18.3 Genuine customer details

When you complete a booking confirmation you must give your genuine name and, where the provider's category requires it, an identification or passport number. This is so the booking record relates to the correct person. Your public display name on Triplona may remain different.

18.4 Who can see these details

Details you enter in a booking confirmation are visible to the other party to that booking and to authorised Triplona support and compliance staff. Identification numbers are stored privately and are shown only in a shortened form in support views. They are never published on a listing, a profile or a public page.

18.5 Changes and cancellation

Either party may propose changes before both parties have confirmed; each version is kept so the history of what was agreed is clear. Cancelling a booking confirmation only cancels the record — any cancellation, refund or other consequence of the underlying booking is governed by the provider's own terms under section 6.

Questions about these Terms? Reach out through the platform and our team will help. By continuing to use Triplona you acknowledge that you have read and accepted this agreement.
